Agnes Kanizsai is a PhD student at the Department of Comparative Literature at University of Szeged, Hungary. In her current research she focuses on the modern adaptations of the Arthurian legend, with special interest in the novels of post-war writers and the topics of power, violence, war and justice. Her previous conference papers dealt with the connections of medieval and modern texts, the knightly combat, and the body and identity formation of knights. She also publishes reviews on contemporary young adult-fiction and fantasy for Hungarian critical journals. As a practitioner she has always been interested in martial arts and a critical approach to them.
