Daniel Jaquet is a senior research and teaching assistant at the University of Geneva, Medieval History Department. He submitted his PhD dissertation in 2013 entitled ‘Combattre en armure à la fin du Moyen Âge et au début de la Renaissance’. His research interest lies with bodily knowledge transmission mediated through technical literature, Fight Books, anthropology of single combat and social/cultural history of warfare. He actively works toward recognition of the field of Historical European Martial Arts studies, notably by proposing methods of modern-day laboratory-based experimentation. He has co-founded the International Journal Acta Periodica Duellatorum, dedicated to Historical European Martial Arts studies. He has a martial art experiences in Judo and Yoseikan Budo and train, teach and research Historical European Martial Arts since 2007.
